How to forward calls on Grasshopper

If you’re planning on setting up a Grasshopper call forwarding system with a live answer service or virtual receptionist, then you need to be sure that your new number is being forwarded correctly for your customers. 

Below is everything you need to know about Grasshopper call forwarding, including how to do it and whether or not you should choose a conditional or unconditional answering setting for your business. 

 How to forward Grasshopper calls to my phone?

First things first, in order to set up proper Grasshopper forwarding, you’ll need to follow the steps laid out below:

  1. Start by signing in to your Grasshopper online account.
  2. Once you’re on your Grasshopper dashboard, click on Settings
  3. Select Call Forwarding Settings, then Extensions.
  4. Then, click “Edit” next to an existing extension you want the number to work with
  5. Select the “Add a forwarding number” box
  6. Enter the required phone number in the “Forwarding number” box
  7. Then, in the following section, select the second option (Calls will connect to you as soon as you pick up)
  8. Choose when you’d like your calls to be answered, i.e. after 3 rings
  9. Click the “Add this number” box and close the dashboard

Conditional call forwarding vs. unconditional call forwarding 

While setting up your calls to be answered by a live answering service, you probably noticed that you have the option to choose at what point a virtual receptionist will pick up your calls.
